"Tell us a little about yourself..."
Professionally
I'm currently an app designer for Whataburger’s digital team. I strike a balance between designing new products and updating our existing designs. My largest projects have impacted the central flows for Whataburger’s users, such as ordering and location selection. I’m currently revamping our loyalty program flows. On the side, I’m also the lead designer for my agency, JOVA Design. I provide the full gambit of design work, including competitive analyses, user interviews and testing, low and high fidelity wireframes on Figma, and handoff documents for developers. My clients range from education nonprofiits to the city of San Antonio. I design for mission-driven organizations; as a former high school teacher, community impact work is what drives me the most.
Personally
I am a first generation immigrant and college student with roots in Uruguay, Peru, and Brazil, speaking both Spanish and Portuguese. After graduating from Duke University (go Blue Devils!), I taught hundreds of students through Teach for America. I live in San Antonio with my fiancée and 4 cats. In my free time, you can find me at my CrossFit gym, playing board games, answering trivia questions, or reading any genre of book, especially historical fiction.
